Sedona Az — Ambiente’s Forty-1 restaurant, nestled beside the hotel’s stunningly illuminated pool, offers not only culinary delights but also a mesmerizing visual experience. The setting is as much a part of the meal as the food itself, with the pool’s glowing waters reflecting the night sky, creating a serene and captivating ambiance.
First Course: Kale Caesar Salad

The evening began with the Kale Caesar Salad, a modern and refreshing take on a classic. The crisp kale, paired with crunchy wonton strips and grated Parmesan was perfectly balanced by a subtly spicy chipotle Caesar dressing. The purple ninja radish added a bright, peppery kick, making this dish a delightful start to the meal.
Second Course: Sea Bass

The women at our table chose the Sea Bass, a dish that epitomized culinary elegance. The fish was tender and flaked perfectly. The Sea Bass was complemented by a sweet green pea purée and crispy arancini. The Yutz Beurre Blanc sauce provided a rich, tangy finish, while the sautéed spring peas and pork belly added depth and texture to this beautifully composed dish by Chef David Duncan.
Blue Crab Ramen

The men ordered the Blue Crab Ramen, a dish that brought together an intricate blend of flavors. The ramen noodles were enveloped in a luxurious truffle-white miso dashi, with the sweetness of blue crab, the earthiness of beech mushrooms, and the slight heat from Fresno chili creating a harmonious and memorable dish. The addition of shaved black truffle and gold pea shoots elevated the dish to a new level of indulgence.
Dessert: Tootsie Roll Espresso Martini
To cap off the evening, everyone enjoyed the Tootsie Roll Espresso Martini, a dessert cocktail that was both playful and refined. The combination of Tito’s Vodka, Mr. Black Coffee Liqueur, and espresso was perfectly balanced by the sweetness of simple syrup and a hint of cocoa bitterness. The toasted marshmallow garnish added a nostalgic, sweet touch that perfectly ended the meal.
As we left the restaurant, the night desert air was cool, and the stars seemed to shine a little brighter, much like Chef Duncan’s dishes we had just savored. Forty-1 is, without a doubt, a culinary gem in the heart of Sedona, offering an experience that is as breathtaking as the landscape that surrounds it.
