After a thorough search for the most qualified candidate, the city of Sedona promoted JoAnne Cook as the new city clerk.
Cook has worked for the city of Sedona for over seven years, first as the deputy city clerk and most recently as a human resources specialist. She is also a Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) through the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
“I am honored and excited for the opportunity to serve the community, City Council, and my colleagues as city clerk. When I first came to work for the city of Sedona as the deputy city clerk, I thoroughly enjoyed the range of duties and services the Clerk’s Office provides. I am looking forward to the new year and continuing to build upon the strong foundation of excellence that my predecessors established,” said Cook.
“I’m so pleased that we have filled the city clerk position with our own JoAnne Cook. It was clear that she was not only the most technically qualified candidate, but her track record of exceptional performance, a team-oriented approach, and a positive attitude, all made her the ideal candidate for this important position,” said Sedona City Manager Karen Osburn.
Cook starts the position on Jan. 10, 2021.
