Sedona New Age Shops: The Insider Guide to Metaphysical Shopping

Sedona new age shops are a world unto themselves — and a world you need to experience. Walk into any of the town’s New Age shops and you will find things you did not know existed, things you cannot explain, and things that will somehow end up in your suitcase despite your best intentions.

This guide goes beyond crystals. While our Crystal Shops Guide covers the stone-specific shopping experience, this piece is about everything else: the tarot decks, the singing bowls, the incense, the books, the handmade ritual tools, and the wonderfully weird objects that make Sedona’s metaphysical retail scene unlike anything else in America.

The Best Sedona New Age Shops to Visit

Center for the New Age (341 SR-179) is the metaphysical department store of Sedona. Under one roof you will find crystals, books, incense, jewelry, oracle cards, singing bowls, sage, candles, and enough amethyst to furnish a small apartment. But the real draw here is the breadth of services — psychic readings, aura photos, vortex tour bookings, and healing sessions are all available on-site. This is the best one-stop shop for visitors who want to experience a little of everything in a single visit.

Crystal Magic (2978 SR-179) is primarily a crystal shop, but their inventory extends well into the broader metaphysical space: essential oils, ritual candles, tarot and oracle decks, spiritual books, and a curated selection of handmade jewelry. The staff is exceptionally knowledgeable and genuinely passionate — ask them anything.

Sedona Crystal Vortex has three Uptown locations and carries a wider range of metaphysical supplies than their name suggests. Their jewelry selection is particularly strong, and they carry a good range of books on energy work, meditation, and crystal healing.

The Hidden Gems

Green Witch Creations is the shop for herbalists, pagans, and earth-based spiritual practitioners. Their inventory includes locally crafted candles, herbal blends, Wiccan supplies, ritual tools, and handmade soaps alongside crystals and aura photography. If your spirituality leans more toward the earth and the seasons than the chakras and the cosmos, this is your place.

Mystical Bazaar (3058 W SR-89A) is in West Sedona, which means fewer tourists and more browsing room. Their Tibetan singing bowl collection is one of the best in town — they carry authentic, high-quality bowls at fair prices. They also have an excellent aura photography station and a quieter, more personal shopping experience than the Uptown shops.

Sacred Elements of Sedona is a smaller shop that curates rather than stockpiles. Everything here feels intentional and hand-selected. It is the kind of shop where you walk in planning to spend 10 minutes and emerge 45 minutes later carrying a bag of things you did not know you needed.

What to Shop For (Beyond Crystals)

Tarot and Oracle Decks: Sedona shops carry an extraordinary range of decks you will not find at Barnes & Noble. From classic Rider-Waite to contemporary art decks, Indigenous-inspired decks, and Sedona-specific creations. If you have ever been curious about tarot, this is the place to find a deck that speaks to you. Staff at most shops can help you choose one based on your interests and experience level.

Singing Bowls: Both crystal and Tibetan. If you have experienced a sound bath in Sedona and want to bring the practice home, a singing bowl is the perfect souvenir. Tibetan bowls start around $30 to $50 for small ones. Crystal bowls are more expensive ($100+) but produce that pure, crystalline tone. Mystical Bazaar and Center for the New Age have the best selections. Pro tip: ask the staff to let you play several bowls. Choose the one whose vibration you feel in your chest.

Incense and Sage: Sedona shops carry white sage, palo santo, sweetgrass, and locally sourced herbs for smudging. A bundle of high-quality white sage makes a great gift (even for skeptics — it just smells good). We would note that white sage is culturally significant to many Indigenous nations, and overharvesting has become a concern. Ask shops about their sourcing.

Books: The metaphysical book selections in Sedona shops are curated by people who actually read them. You will find titles on energy healing, meditation, crystal work, astrology, and spiritual development that you would never discover online because the algorithms do not know they exist. Ask staff for recommendations — they always have strong opinions.

Healing Paws

Essential Oils and Aromatherapy: Several shops carry locally blended oils using desert plants — juniper, sage, piñon, and desert lavender. These are unique to the region and make distinctive gifts.

Handmade Jewelry: Sedona’s metaphysical shops feature jewelry made with intentional crystal and stone combinations designed for specific purposes — protection, love, clarity, grounding. These are not mass-produced pieces; many are made by local artisans who are also practitioners.

Shopping Tips from Locals

Take your time. These shops reward slow browsing. Pick things up. Hold crystals. Ring singing bowls. Read the first page of books. The metaphysical shopping experience is supposed to be sensory and intuitive, not efficient.

Talk to the staff. The people working in Sedona’s metaphysical shops are there because they love this world. They have stories, opinions, and recommendations that will enrich your experience far beyond what a product label tells you.

Set a budget before you walk in. The combination of beautiful objects, enthusiastic staff, and the general Sedona energy makes it very easy to spend more than you intended. We speak from decades of experience.

For skeptical friends and family: A bundle of sage, a beautifully polished stone, or a small singing bowl makes a unique gift that even non-believers can appreciate as an art object or conversation piece. You do not have to frame it as spiritual.

The Shopping Route

Start in Uptown Sedona (Crystal Magic, Sedona Crystal Vortex, Center for the New Age) for the widest selection and most energy. Then drive to West Sedona (Mystical Bazaar, Green Witch Creations) for smaller, more curated experiences. If you are staying near the Village of Oak Creek, Sacred Elements is worth a stop.

Plan for at least a full morning or afternoon. Visiting Sedona new age shops is an experience, not an errand.
