The 33rd annual Sedona International Film Festival runs February 20 to 28, 2027, nine days of independent film in Sedona, Arizona. Founded in 1995 as a three day showcase, the festival now calls itself the largest single annual event in the community. The 2026 edition ran February 21 to March 1, so late February is the window to plan around every year.
What to Expect
The festival states that it screens more than 150 films across its nine days: features, documentaries, shorts and animation. Workshops and filmmaker conversations bring industry professionals to Sedona to teach, and the festival also runs a screenplay competition. Top tier pass holders get the social side as well: a pre-festival party, receptions, a Red Carpet Gala, an Awards Brunch and a filmmaker and VIP lounge.
Screenings take place at four venues:
- Mary D. Fisher Theatre and Alice Gill-Sheldon Theatre, the festival’s own two screens at 2030 W. State Route 89A. The Fisher opened in 2012 and the Gill-Sheldon in 2022.
- Harkins Sedona 6 Theatres, 2081 W. State Route 89A. Festival Central Box Office is here during the festival, where Platinum and Gold passes are picked up at Will Call.
- Sedona Performing Arts Center at Sedona Red Rock High School, 995 Upper Red Rock Loop Road.
Venue box offices open one hour before the first screening of the day. The film schedule is published in the last week of January.
Tickets and Passes
As of October 2026 the festival has not published 2027 pass prices. For 2026, passes went on sale in early December 2025 with advance pricing through December 31, then regular pricing from January 1 through festival week. 2026 prices were:
- Platinum All-Access Priority Pass: $1,500 regular ($1,220 advance). One ticket to every screening plus all parties, events and the VIP lounge.
- Gold Priority Pass: $660 regular ($525 advance). Films only, one ticket per screening, with one party included.
- 20-Ticket Pack: $325 regular ($300 advance). 10-Ticket Pack: $165 regular ($155 advance). Packs can be shared and are valid only during festival week.
- Full-time student 10-pack: $125, by contacting the box office with a student ID.
- Individual tickets: $18, or $15 for festival members.
Dual versions of the Platinum and Gold passes let two people book together. Ticket selection opens in waves on Mondays at 10 a.m. Arizona time: priority pass holders pick films and seats three weeks before the festival, ticket pack holders two weeks before, and individual tickets go on sale one week before. Platinum and Gold passes are non-refundable.
Where to Stay and Eat During the Festival
Three of the four venues sit on State Route 89A in West Sedona, so staying on that side of town keeps you close to most screenings. The festival lists partner hotels with festival rates on its Travel and Lodging page. Book early and compare options in our guide to where to stay in Sedona. Between screenings, browse our picks for Sedona restaurants, many of them along the same stretch of 89A.
Year Round at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre
The festival’s two theatres run all year. The organization describes about 1,400 programmatic offerings a year: independent and documentary films, Met Live Opera broadcasts (the 2026 to 2027 season is on the calendar), concerts, comedy nights, the In the Living Room music series and productions by the Sedona Professional Theatre Company. Membership starts at $90 a year (Film Sedona level) and brings discounted tickets year round plus member pricing on festival passes. Check current showtimes on the festival site, and see what else is on in town in our Sedona events directory.
