Alcantara Vineyards and Winery

Alcantara Vineyards sits where Oak Creek meets the Verde River south of Cottonwood: more than 20,000 vines and 17 varietals on the river terrace, a tasting room open every day, a wedding chapel among the vines, and a private beach where the Water to Wine kayak trip lands. Barbara and Bob Predmore founded it in the mid 2000s (the winery says 2004 and celebrated its 20th harvest party in October 2025), and Ron Brumley is winemaker, vineyard manager and general manager. Dogs on leash are welcome, as are children; there is no admission fee.

Tasting, Tours and Food

• Tasting room daily 11 to 5, closed Thanksgiving and Christmas, no reservation needed. A tasting is four 1.5-ounce pours of your choosing; the fee is not published, so ask at the bar.
• A free 15-minute vineyard and winery tour runs Friday and Saturday at 11:30, and a private tour and barrel tasting with the winemaker is by appointment.
• A free shuttle from Old Town Cottonwood runs Friday and Saturday at 11 and noon, 14 seats, first come; it is suspended until the weekend of November 6, 2026.
• The restaurant serves 11 to 5 with no reservations: antipasto plate $22.95, cheese plate $20.95, Greek salad $17.95, sandwiches $14.95 to $17.95, pizzas $19.95.
• Live music most Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons from noon to 4 on the back lawn. The Supper Club harvest party and grape stomp on October 17, 2026 is $95 with a bottle to go.

The Wines

The Grand Rouge, a Cabernet Franc, Tannat and Cabernet Sauvignon blend made every year, is the house staple. The current list runs from the Sexy Time white blend of Trebbiano, Riesling, Marsanne and Roussanne, a Chardonnay, a Zinfandel rose and a Riesling through the Confluence red blend, estate Merlot and Malbec (concrete-aged, unfiltered, no added sulfites), Mourvedre, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tannat, plus the sweet Bella Dolce. Bottle prices are in the tasting room and the online store. Shipping to Phoenix, Tucson and Prescott is $25.
