… most of life is lived with the simple day to day things filling the hours of the day … taking a drink or going for a run (and flight) and we can enjoy moments like that whether accomplished by us or vicariousy whilst observing others … snow shoveling is something I prefer to watch others do.
The egret above is getting a drink from the lake to help wash down a meal that he had just consumed; no idea what it was, but it was long, skinny and had a feathered tail … love those water droplets trailing off his beak. He also has a chartreuse patch just above his beak … a breeding season adornment.
Below is a hen Golden Eye duck making her way down her watery runway … this is the first time in years that I have been able to get close enough to a Golden Eye to get a keeper shot. Before yesterday it was tough to get within a hundred or more yards from them … yesterday it was 50 feet.
Into the weekend for me and as always the plan is to be back Monday morning. Enjoy the life you find yourself in … smile and share your joy!
Cheers,
Ted
So each one to his wish, and as for me,
I sit to-night and wait
In slumb’rous moonlight late,
To feel the freedom of the world in me
Like waves of a shoreless sea.
