Cowboy Club Sedona

The Cowboy Club sits at the crossroads of Uptown in a 1946 building that was the Oak Creek Tavern, where on June 23, 1965 four painters met in front of the fireplace to write the bylaws of what became the Cowboy Artists of America. The restaurant has traded on that story since 1993: original wood walls, a serious collection of cowboy art, the second-largest set of Longhorns in the country over the bar, and a menu the kitchen calls High Desert Cuisine, which is where the rattlesnake comes in.

What to Order

  • Cactus fries ($15), the dish people come for, or the Trail Boss Sampler ($29) with cactus fries, rattlesnake sausage, bison meatballs, ribs and a pretzel stick.
  • Rattlesnake shows up as sausage in the sampler, as an add-on to the creamy Southwest pasta ($25 plus $13), and as mini rattlesnake corn dogs ($8) on the afternoon menu.
  • Bison: the famous bison chili ($15), the Primal bison burger ($28), the two-herd meatloaf of bison and beef ($38).
  • Steaks and game: Ranchero flat iron $39, filet mignon $56, Cowboy ribeye $59, High Desert elk chops $52, and house-smoked prime rib ($65) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday after 4.

Prices from the restaurant’s online menu as of October 2026. Trail Bites run 3 to 5 p.m. every day: $6 draft beer, an $8 classic margarita, and small plates from $8 to $14. There is a kids’ menu for 12 and under.

Good to Know

  • Open daily 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., 364 days a year, closed only on Christmas.
  • Reservations are limited to 5:00 and 6:30 p.m. seatings, by phone, and are not confirmed until the restaurant calls back. Otherwise it is first come, first served, and the wait on a weekend evening is real.
  • The second room of old, the Silver Saddle Room, is gone. Private parties now go to The Cabin, a separate building at 260 Van Deren Road that seats up to 72 or holds 100 standing.
  • Free parking around the back, which matters in Uptown.
  • The Chamber lists the patio as pet friendly, with 40 seats outside in season.
