The Arizona Department of Transportation will host a virtual public meeting from 6 – 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, to provide information on upcoming improvements that will be made to State Route 89A in Oak Creek Canyon between Sedona and Flagstaff. The improvements include rockfall mitigation, drainage and sediment control, and a bridge rehabilitation.
How to participate in the meeting:
Join online: azdot.gov/SR89A
Password: ADOT2022
Join by phone: 1.408.418.9388
Meeting Number (access code: 24844956572)
Password: ADOT2022

During the public meeting, ADOT representatives will provide an overview of the project, followed by an opportunity for the public to ask questions online or by phone.

With the exception of limited daytime and overnight closures, SR 89A will remain open to traffic during the project. Traffic restrictions – using a combination of temporary traffic signals and/or flagging operations – will be in place while the improvements are under construction. The roadway will be narrowed to one lane only through the work zone(s) with alternating north- and southbound travel.

ADOT is committed to completing the improvements as quickly as possible, while balancing the short- and long-term transportation and access needs of local and nearby communities.

The work is expected to be completed by fall 2023. Visit azdot.gov/SR89A for more details on the planned improvements.

If you cannot participate in the upcoming meeting, it will be recorded and posted on the project web page at azdot.gov/SR89A after the meeting is held.

If you have questions regarding the upcoming work, you can submit them to the project team through the following ways:
Online: Submit a question or comment by visiting azdot.gov/Contact, and select “PROJECTS” from the dropdown menu.
Phone: Call the ADOT Project Information Line at 855.712.8530
