Red Rock Pass Guide: Do You Need One in Sedona?

Buy one from trailhead machines (cards only), online at Recreation.gov, or at local visitor centers. Riding the free Sedona Shuttle means you don’t need one.

Where do I need a Red Rock Pass?

At any Red Rock Ranger District fee site where you park and leave your vehicle, which includes most popular trailheads. Fee sites are signed at the lot. Display a physical pass in your vehicle; one pass covers one vehicle. Digital passes are tied to your license plate.

You don’t need a pass at non-fee trailheads, or when you arrive on the Sedona Shuttle. A pass does not guarantee a parking space.

Which other passes are accepted?

Any Federal Recreational Lands (America the Beautiful) pass works in place of a Red Rock Pass at Red Rock Pass fee sites:

  • Resident annual pass ($80) for U.S. citizens and residents
  • Non-resident annual pass ($250) for non-U.S. residents
  • Senior annual ($20) or senior lifetime ($80), for U.S. citizens or permanent residents age 62+
  • Free military, Access (permanent disability) and 4th grade passes, subject to eligibility

See the National Park Service pass guide for current prices and eligibility. The local Red Rock Pass prices are separate from federal annual pass prices.

Where can I buy a Red Rock Pass?

  1. Trailhead vending machines: daily and weekly passes, credit card only.
  2. Online: Recreation.gov. It’s tied to your license plate, so there’s nothing to print.
  3. In person: Red Rock Ranger District Visitor Center, Sedona Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center, and many local shops (hangtags).

The Grand Annual hangtag is sold at designated concessionaire sites and the Sedona Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center. Recreation.gov lists Call of the Canyon, Crescent Moon Ranch, Grasshopper Point and Beaver Creek Day Use among its covered concessionaire sites.

What doesn’t the Red Rock Pass cover?

  • Red Rock State Park and Slide Rock State Park charge their own entry fees.
  • Crescent Moon Ranch, Grasshopper Point and Call of the Canyon (West Fork Trail) are concessionaire sites with separate fees, unless you have the Grand Annual.
  • Palatki Heritage Site needs a reservation as well as a pass: (877) 444-6777.
