The Sedona Heritage Museum will be one of more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to active duty military personnel and their families this summer, including National Guard and Reserve, beginning May 21, 2022 – Armed Forces Day. The offer will run through Labor Day, September 5, 2022.
This year the Museum will kick-off their participation in the program with a flag display on May 21st, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The flags will be posted to create a beautiful photo opportunity for anyone to take advantage of. The Oak Creek Chapter National Society of the DAR will be providing and installing the flags.
The annual Blue Star Museums program is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, and the Department of Defense. A list of participating museums nationwide is available at arts.gov/bluestarmuseums. There is also a Parent Toolkit available to assist parents in preparing their children for a special museum experience.
Janeen Trevillyan, spokesperson for the Sedona Heritage Museum said “Our museum is proud to be part of Blue Star Museums again this summer, a national appreciation program to thank our military families for their service and share with them America’s cultural treasures.”
The Sedona Heritage Museum is located at 735 Jordan Road in Jordan Historical Park in Uptown Sedona and is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For more information, call 928-282-7038.
