Today’s Photo from Ted Grussing Photography: Moods of All Kinds

…sifting through photos tonight I came on a series of images that have always evoked a sense of forever while minimizing thoughts relating to human activities and participation in them … there are times when it is important to be alone and sense the unlimited universe we occupy such an infinitesimal part of … to be humbled by the extent and timelessness of creation and how short a period our visit here is.

Flying above the cloud layers cuts you off from ties to earth; mountains poking through and above the clouds seem like intruders in the peace of being separated from the planet below … a reminder that eventually it will be time to return to the surface and be with other humans … those we choose and those we don’t … doing our best to be kind and help others make it through too.

There has never been a time when water has not called me and I got this photo of the Pacific ocean while driving down the coast from a visit to my friends at the Caruso School of Law at Pepperdine University in Malibu. Thousands of miles of ocean are out there and islands with coves to explore. I think I need to get back there soon … the view of the ocean from the law school campus is expansive and the onshore flow of air is beyond fresh.

Into the weekend for me and the goal is to continue the progress in updating online portfolios. Have a beautiful day … we’re here on this incredible ever changing planet … wow!

Cheers,

Ted

I bring but this one common thought

My life has wrought;

That from the dregs of drear despair

Still everywhere

There is a joy I yet may sip—

‘Tis comradeship

With all mankind, the high and low

I know.
