Today’s Photo from Ted Grussing Photography: The Fallen – Remembering … Honoring

… today we remember the more than 1,200,000 people who have died in the service of our country since its founding. We remember their sacrifice and pray that someday such sacrifice will not be necessary … there is hope, because we are human and capable of incredible acts of goodness .. but then there is the flip side of the equation too. All we can do is to bring kindness and understanding with us in our daily lives and perhaps … perhaps those who lead the nations of the world will acknowledge that their duties are to honor their citizens and others as well.

I find comfort and peace in the vastness of this beautiful planet … the photo above is of a single vulture who is ridge soaring the cliffs at Point Reyes in northern California as the fog was lifting and the photo below is one of peace at days end on the San Francisco Volcanic Field; Kendrick Peak is on the left side and the San Francisco Peaks on the right with A-1 crater left foreground, just in the light. Millions of years in the making and still changing. Humans have been forming civilizations for only 6,000 years … perhaps there is hope.

Tomorrow night a request for a special photo of One will be honored … have a beautiful day … remember the price paid for us by those who went before.

With gratitude,

Ted

You are a child of the universe no less

than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be

here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no

doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you

conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and

aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep

peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery

and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.
