Rascal Modern American Diner & Bar

Rascal is the modern American diner inside The Wilde Resort and Spa on West 89A, open since the resort debuted in October 2021 and part of Chef Mercer Mohr’s Mercer’s Kitchen group with Creekside, Mesa Grill and Rene. It serves from 7 in the morning to 10 at night, which makes it one of the few West Sedona rooms where you can get a late dinner, and the patio with its fire pit takes dogs. Live music plays in the lounge on Friday and Saturday nights.

What to Order

• Breakfast (7 to 11): the classic Benedict $17 half or $23 full, seared salmon Benedict $28, buttermilk pancakes $14 to $17 in plain, blueberry, banana chocolate chip or lemon ricotta, chilaquiles $19, deluxe biscuits and gravy $25, a Rascal Bloody Mary $14.
• Dinner (3 to 10): shrimp and grits $29, the dish the menu says won “Best Twist on an Original” in 2022; crispy fried chicken with a honey-butter biscuit $32; the Rascal Wagyu burger $23; Baja fish tacos $25; Maryland blue crab cakes $31; Mercer’s meatloaf $28; blackened salmon $34; seared halibut $38; petite filet $39; a 14-ounce bone-in ribeye $64.
• Happy hour (3 to 5:30 daily, not on holidays): short rib nachos $19, firecracker shrimp $24, corn dogs $14, fish tacos two for $13, shishitos $12, and $2 off wine on tap, well cocktails and beer. Mercer Monday brings $5 fish tacos and draft beers and $8 espresso martinis.
