Sky Ranch Lodge

Sky Ranch Lodge sits on top of Airport Mesa next to the Sedona Airport, which is why Forbes called its views the best red rock views in Sedona: the whole of West Sedona and the formations behind it spread out below the rooms. It is family owned by the Joynt and Graham families since 1982, and the grounds are the other draw, more than six acres of botanical gardens with koi ponds and waterfalls that the public can walk from 9 to 3 daily.

Rooms and Food

• 94 cabin-style rooms in a dozen types: Garden and Deluxe Garden rooms at 250 square feet, Rim and Sky rooms at 300 with the view, Premier Rim at 320, and 500-square-foot Cottages with full kitchens. Most have fireplaces and a patio or balcony.
• A restored 1970 Airstream in the gardens is the cafe and bar for guests: made-to-order breakfast 7 to 11, pizzas, salads and wraps from noon to 10, a 5 to 6 happy hour with half-price house wine and drafts and $3 pizza slices, and room service by QR code from 7 a.m. to midnight.
• Outdoor pool and hot tub, open seasonally.

Good to Know

• Pets welcome at $25 plus tax per pet per night, two per stay, with a chew-toy gift bag at check-in.
• Rates are not published outside the booking engine; 10 percent off for military, repeat guests and seniors 62 and over. A Greater Sedona Business Improvement District fee applies. Weddings in the gardens start at $6,000.
